Life
is great out at the MTC. I LOVE my comp. Her name is Sister Murray. Her
full name is Kawena'okealaula Moanale! I can say it, and according to
her I'm saying it exact. She's from Maui, Hawaii, and did a year at
BYU-H before she came down. During that time she worked at the
Polynesian Cultural Center as a dancer. She is amazing! How we first
bonded is when she said her favorite actor is Gene Kelley. I may have
freaked out. I was so excited that she likes old movies. Black and white
movies as well!!!! We have a lot in common and it's been great. Our
district is as well. Sister Hinckley is from Alberta Canada (Her and her
comp Sister Cockren are also going to Long Beach!) She is super sweet
and get's our whole room in order. She 20 and did a year and a half at
BYU-I before she left. Sister Cockren is from Colorado, and was adopted.
She is so spunky and has so much love and service. Those two are
amazing comp's and have a lot to share. It's amazing to see what they
say. We get along really well with the Elders in our district as well.
There's Elder Williams who's our district leader. He's from North
Carolina and has a lot of advice for us. He's 21 and has an amazing
testimony and insight of the gospel. His comp Elder Rhyasen, who's from
Washington I think, is hilarious and spiritual. His whole demeanor
reminds me of Brandon. That's all that explains it. Elder Locklear is
also from North Carolina. He has a strong southern accent with a little
lisp. He was super quiet at first, but now he's the funniest person in
the district. Elder Townsley is from Kansas and is super sassy, and
loves imitating people. It's not annoying. It helps lift our moods. All
the Elders are going to Mesa, Arizona.
It's super
busy here. The days are super fast, yet so slow. I guess the hardest
part is just sitting almost 24/7. I love it though. My teachers are
amazing. Sister Harris is so sweet and is always complimenting my on my
outfit. Every time she is teaching us, there's such passion in her voice
and on her face. Brother Call reminds me of Kolipoki from The Other Side of Heaven.
It's so fun running into him because he'll always stop and see how
you're doing. Brother Gordon is awesome. He got home from his mission a
year ago, but is 26. His family has been less active for about 13 years.
He is so amazing!
Yesterday my zone/branch went on a
walk around the temple. I totally forgot that there were gates
surrounding the MTC. Your just so busy that there's no time for that.
I
love you all and am so thankful for all your amazing examples to bring
me to where I am today. I love it her, and I know that the things I'm
learning are helping me in every way.
Hope everyone is having an amazing adventure!
Love,
Sister Stone
